How do I archive a group, or leave one?

When a trip or a shared flat is over, open Group settings and tap Archive group. The group moves to Archived at the bottom of Groups, and nothing is deleted. Settling up first gives a clean close, but anyone in the group can archive it at any time.

An archived group takes no new expenses, nobody new can join it from an invite link, and its repeating expenses pause. A browser that already opened its link still shows the balances until someone taps Stop sharing link. Payments can still be recorded, and its balances still count in your totals on Groups. Unarchive group brings it back.

To leave a group, open Group settings and tap Leave group at the bottom. You need to be even in every currency first: if you aren't, Evensies says what you owe or are owed, with Settle up one tap away. An owner with nobody else holding the group first picks who takes it over, from everyone else in it with Evensies. If you are the last person in it with Evensies, there is nobody to hand it to, so Evensies offers to delete it instead, which can be undone for 30 days. Leaving needs a connection.

Once you leave, the group comes off all your phones, and the invite links you made into it stop working, with the balances page they open. Your name stays in the group with what you paid and owed, and anyone in it can invite you back. To take someone else out once they are settled, swipe across their name under People and tap Remove: anyone can remove a name added by hand, and only an owner can remove someone on Evensies. The group comes off their phones, and their invite links stop too.

To take a group away for everyone instead, its owner can delete it. What you share with a friend outside any group can't be archived, left or deleted.
