Help articles
The help center answers most questions in short articles: getting started, groups, expenses and splits, settling up, your account and your data.
Write to us
Email support@freedom-terminal.com. From the app, Send feedback in Account writes the email for you and adds the app's version, your phone's model and system, and the app's language, which helps us look into a problem. You see all of it before you send, and can delete any of it.
Joining a group
Open the invite link a friend sent you. With Evensies installed it opens the group's join screen; joining is free. Without the app, the link shows the group's balances in your browser.
Creating groups and the purchase
Creating your own groups is one purchase, Create groups, paid once, for every group your account will ever create. Joining groups never costs anything.
Bought it on another account or phone? Open Account and tap Restore purchases. A purchase that moved to another account in the last seven days can move again once the seven days are up.
If whoever bought it shares purchases with their family through Family Sharing, the family can use Restore purchases in their own accounts.
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Using Evensies
- Offline: everything you do is saved on your phone at once and sent when you're back online.
- Other currencies: each expense can be in any currency. The rate comes from the European Central Bank or ExchangeRate-API, or you type your own.
- Receipts: attach a photo, screenshot or PDF to an expense. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence on, running iOS 27 or later, Scan a receipt reads it on the phone and fills the expense in for you to check, with no daily limit. On other phones, where receipt scanning is on, Scan a receipt reads it and fills the expense in for you to check, up to 40 a day; where it is off, the app attaches the receipt without reading it. Scanning on our server needs an account, and a demo group keeps no receipts.
- Coming from Splitwise: in Splitwise, export the group as a spreadsheet, then choose Import from Splitwise on the New group screen.
- Your records: Export everything as CSV in Account gives you every group in one file.
Your account
To delete your account, open Account and tap Delete account. What you added to groups stays with them, so everyone else's balances still add up. The privacy policy says exactly what is deleted and what stays.
