How do I move a group over from Splitwise?

In Splitwise, open the group's settings and choose Export as spreadsheet. Keep the file somewhere you can reach from your iPhone or iPad, such as Files or Mail.

1. In Evensies, tap the + button on Groups, then Import from Splitwise. Or share the file to Evensies.
2. Tap Choose the file and pick the export.
3. Check the group's name and currency, and pick yourself under Which one is you?. Everyone else becomes a name in the group that they can claim with an invite link.
4. If the file has other currencies, each is converted at one rate. Evensies fills in the European Central Bank's for the day of the export where the bank publishes both currencies, ExchangeRate-API's latest for some others, and otherwise asks you to type one; you can change any of them.
5. Tap Import.

Evensies then checks every balance against Splitwise's own totals, and says Matches Splitwise to the cent or shows each difference.

Importing into a new group is part of the one purchase that creates groups. A file with just two people can go instead into what you share with one of them outside any group: choose them under Import into in place of A new group, free while you share a group with them. An expense one person paid comes in with its cost and everyone's share. When several people paid, Splitwise's file doesn't say what each one paid, so the expense records what each person was up or down overall, with a note saying so. Settle-up rows come in as payments.
