Can I save an expense with a receipt when I'm offline?

Yes. Add the receipt and save as usual: the expense is saved at once, and the receipt waits on your phone, with Attached once you're online under it. When Evensies next reaches our server, it uploads the receipt and attaches it, and everyone in the group sees it.

On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence on, running iOS 27 or later, the receipt is still read on the phone with no connection. When receipt scanning is on but there is no connection, the receipt isn't read: type the expense yourself, or tap Try scanning again once you are back online, before you save.

If the upload fails for a reason that may pass, Evensies tries again, waiting longer each time. If our server refuses the file, or the file is gone, Groups says which receipt couldn't be attached; tap Dismiss once you have seen it.

Don't sign out while a receipt is waiting: signing out deletes it from your phone before it is attached.
