How do I create a group?

On Groups, tap the + button at the top, or Create a group if you have none yet. Give the group a name, choose What is it for? and its Currency, then tap Create, the checkmark at the top.

Balances are kept in the group's currency, and each expense can be in any currency. The group's currency can still be changed in its settings until the first expense or payment is added; then it locks. Currencies and exchange rates explains why.

Under People you can invite people straight away, or later from the group's settings. New groups start with Simplify debts on; Balances says what that does.

Creating your own groups is one purchase, Create groups, paid once. It covers every group your account creates, and starting expenses with a friend you no longer share a group with. The price shown is the App Store's, in your currency. Evensies offers it when you first create a group; Not now takes you back. Joining a group someone invites you to is always free, and so is everything you do inside one.

Bought it already, on another account or phone? Tap Restore purchases, in the purchase sheet or in Account, to bring it to the account you are signed in to. It can move to a different account once it has been on its current one for seven days, counted from when it was bought or last moved; the account it was bought on can always take it back. If whoever bought it shares purchases through Family Sharing, the family can use Restore purchases in their own accounts.
